Ordered the pasta carbonara and a small salad with anchovies on top. So good. The bacon was perfectly crisp and the sauce perfectly done. This was recommended to me by a local here in Rome who often eats here.

Great food! We had the bruschetta (four types), amatriciana and the rigatoni special with sausage, black cabbage and sheep cheese. We would definitely go back!

We left the Castel de St Angelo and we're ready to find a good spot to eat. This was one of the many outdoor cafes close-by. It had colorful placemats and was full of diners inside and outside. We were seated outside right away and given menus. We ordered anti pasti with meats and cheeses, pasta with crispy pork and egg, caprese salad and chocolate cake. There seemed a back up in the kitchen and it took a long time to get served. The wait staff were very apologetic. When the food arrived, all was forgotten, because it was so delicious! The pasta was very rich, and the "crispy pork" aka, bacon, was fabulous. The meats and cheeses were very fun to eat and try. The caprese salad was very fresh and had the sweetest tomato and freshest basil. We also enjoyed our first desert in Rome - a chocolate torte with ice cream. So good! Give it a try!

This was the perfect spot to enjoy a quick lunch before visiting the Vatican Museum! I visited with my mom and brother in July 2021. We dined inside so that we could enjoy the air conditioning, as well as the neat interior design! The staff was super friendly, and even brought us a "gift" of fried pasta before our meals were served! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Vatican City.

You do not want to miss this!! We accidently found this place thanks to the taxi driver. It was a great awesome find. Amazing food!! We tried the beet Risotto, ravioli, fresh artichokes and bruschetta. All amazing!! It's a small place but they move people in and out fast. It's right by Castel Sant'Angelo so you can walk over and explore that. It's also close to the Vatican. Hope you enjoy!

Great dinner tonight. Started with the prosciutto and mozzarella balls with arugula. Spot on! I had the braised ox tail and it was delicious. Tender and seasoned well, I happily ate it off the bone with my hands. My BIL had the lasagna. It was sizzling hot and had a smoky, but very tasty flavor to it. If you like cheese, this baby's got it. My wife had the ravioli special and it was very flavorful and melted in my mouth when I ate it. It's a simple place with a simple menu. The service is very friendly and helpful. And lastly, the pricing was very reasonable. If you want a great meal at a great price, check this place out.

This was the best restaurant we ate at during our nine days in Italy, France and Spain. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We had the antipasti appetizer which came served on two wood planks and had five different cold cuts (prosciutto, capocollo, ham, and two types of salami), liver pate, olives, eggplant, mozzarella, and pork cheek (crispy skin with a soft fat layer, tasted like bacon). There was more than two of us could eat! We also got the carbonara, which was the best we'd ever tasted. Along with dinner we had their house white wine, which resembled a good Pinot Grigio. We were looking for a restaurant that was away from the typical tourist areas and were not disappointed! Worth the approximately 15 minute walk from the Vatican, across the river.

This was my favorite meal in ALL of Italy. Rio Maggiore: Nope Milan: Nope Rome: Alfredo alla Scrofa (super close 2nd!) It is the BEST CARBONARA I've ever eaten. I may never be able to eat it again bc of this place! (Thank you?) House Appetizer is a MUST ORDER Arabiatta was super effing good too I lost my face in the largest mug of Peroni draft (twice ) beer they have. Just go here. It's a short walk from Vatican and just over the Santangelo Bridge. AND HERE IS THE KICKER: The staff is sooooooo cool!!!! Cool = Attentive, personable, genuine, and seemingly very happy to be there! God I wish I lived close to them!!! I'd love to be able to eat those super perfectly sundried tomatoes and whatever that pickled pepper was...with four or five different meats with fresh bread toasted with a little refectory light sprinkle of mozzarella. Definitely going back when I return to Rome. The way the flavor exploded on the granular sized salt or pepper or bacon or cheese with my favorite perfectly cooked al dente pasta. I can't stop. I. Want. To. Remember. Every. Bite.
